Long time . . .

Okay, no one fall out of their chairs! I have finally blogged again. I know what you are saying, I can't believe it either. I was sitting here at work working on the company website and decided I needed a little break. Plus I am going on a High Adventure Canoe trip with my Teacher Quorum this weekend and wanted to be able to post about that, so stay tunned.

My how time flies.
Emily and I went to San Jose at the beginning of May (has it really been a month and a half?) and had a great time visiting the area that I served my mission in. I was there for the ADIM 11 (Art Directors Invitation Masterclass) put on by Adobe. It was a great! We made lenticular posters, you know the kind of thing that you move back and forth and the object in the picture moves and looks 3D. Anyway, go check out all the great work that people did here.

Here is a link to the virtual tour of the group and their posters.

Our good friends Seth and Melinda Claybrook came for a visit at the end of May. We haven't seen each other in ages. It was great to get to spend an evening with them. We did a BBQ and then Emily and Melinda went to see the house while Seth and I played Star Trek CCG. Seth and I used to play all the time with our other friend Aaron. Ah, the good ole days.

Speaking of our new house, things are coming right along. It is all framed in, sheet siding and roof on, and plumbing put in today. We hope we are still on target for moving in on July 24th.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Emily's annual Rose Family Reunion. It is always great to get to spend time with family. It was a bit cold up in Parleys Canyon in Utah though. I am grateful there was a nice wood stove to keep us all warm.

At the conclusion of the Reunion on Sunday, we had to hightail it back home so that I could attend a Temple Committee meeting for the Twin Falls Temple. We are just a few weeks away from the open house. The committee got to go tour the nearly finished temple that evening. It is just beautiful inside. The mural that has been done by Leon Parson is a great representation of the Magic Valley area. Anyone who can make it to the open house from July 11th to August 16th really ought to do so. You won't be sorry.

Well, I think that is enough from me tonight. I will post pictures from the above once I am back at my laptop and from this upcoming trip once I get the photos developed. Yea, I am going to have to shoot film so that I don't run the risk of ruining a digital camera.

Have a great week everyone!
